We are looking for a good location to host workshops and seminars, any ideas?
by Brian Hamlett 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Our organization will be hosting a series of workshops and seminars in Q3 of this year and are looking for a location that offers the following amenities:

  • Attendee size from 50 to 100
  • Tables and chairs provided
  • High-speed Internet connection
  • Audio/video equipment on site for use
  • With easy access to parking

Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations for a location?

CPCC has an awesome conference center on the Harris Campus. Its not free but it has all of your amenities and more. I hear they are a bit under utilized so they should be excited to hear from you.

Email kayla.george@cpcc.edu for an info packet.

Also Friendship Missionary Baptist as new conference center.Business First sponsored an event their this past Tuesday. Call the church at 704-392-0392

If you are member of the Charlotte Chamber that might be an option.

Finally, Wake Forest's Charlotte Campus may be able to help out as well this may not be a viable option given the increasing number of programs being offered in Charlotte. Leslye Gervasi is the main contact. Her email is leslye.gervasi@mba.wfu.edu... I think.

Hope this information was helpful.

Thank you for the information Renae! We will definitely have to check into this! I was also thinking of checking into UNCC (my Alma Mater) to see what they have as well.

Thank you again!

Hi Brian,

You may want to try the local libraries as well as Imaginon. Also, many of the Charlotte Mecklenburg schools have reasonable rental rates for their facilities.

In the event that you should ever need armed or unarmed security guards for any of your events, please let me know.

Best of luck with your workshops and seminars!

Angela

The Harris Corporate Training and Conference Center (HCC) ( http://www3.cpcc.edu/hcc/ ) is Charlotte's only purpose-built executive conference facility. Located near Charlotte Douglas International airport on the Harris Campus of Central Piedmont Community College, HCC offers the ideal environment for productive meetings.

With fourteen thoughtfully-designed conference rooms and a dedicated professional staff, HCC combines high-tech features with high-touch service. The facility includes video conferencing capabilities, high-end furnishings and retreat-like setting designed for the comfort of as many as 500 meeting attendees.

To date HCC has welcomed more than 40,000 meeting attendees. HCC has hosted meetings and events for more than 300 organizations since opening, with 80 percent of clients returning to the conference center after their first meeting.

The conference center has been named to honor The James J. and Angelia M. Harris Foundation, a private charitable trust based in Charlotte and dedicated to advancing knowledge, alleviating suffering and enlarging opportunities for the greatest number of people. Due in part to the Foundation's generous gift, HCC opened in January 2005.

HCC is affiliated with Central Piedmont Community College, an innovative and comprehensive college that advances the life-long educational development of students consistent with their needs, interests, and abilities while strengthening the economic, social, and cultural life of its diverse community. CPCC intends to become the national leader in workforce development.
