Central Piedmont Community College President to provide CBP members with insight into local workforce development and economic recoveryCharlotte –The Charlotte Business Professionals (CBP) announced their monthly meeting will be held on Monday, March 22 at Del Frisco’s in South Park from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Dr. Anthony Zeiss, President of Central Piedmont Community College , will be the keynote speaker at this networking event. "I am pleased to have been invited to speak to the members of the Charlotte Business Professionals. One of my goals during my tenure as president of Central Piedmont Community College has been to expand the College’s presence, both in the community and as a force for ongoing workforce training and economic development in the Charlotte region," says Zeiss. "CBP’s mission dovetails nicely with the goals and interests of the College." Adds CBP’s founder, Jason Mckinstry, "as CBP continues to grow, I am hearing more stories from members about new business they have generated from making connections at our monthly meetings and through our social media presence. I'm delighted that Dr. Zeiss will be able to join us. I hope that members will take away a list of things that they and their companies can do to help with the economic recovery, drive business and put people back to work." Charlotte Business Professionals was created by Jason Mckinstry, a consultant with IT consulting firm Sogeti USA, LLC and is a networking group founded in June 2008. Since its inception, participants report new member to member business of over $500,000 and the creation of almost 20 jobs during a time of recession. Prior speakers have included social media expert Jeff Elder, Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx, Mayor Pat McCrory, Charlotte Regional Partnership President Ronnie Bryant, Chamber President Bob Morgan, and other area leaders. Charlotte Business Professionals currently has over 5,800 professional members on LinkedIn, as well as a standalone site, www.charlottebp.com , that has 1,400 members, representing more than 19 industries, with our members’ roles ranging from C-level executives, high-level managers, HR, staffing and financial professionals, to small and medium-sized business owners, sports professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
